From a single showroom in Sydney's south-west to 111,000+ lifetime customers across the country — we're a family-run appliance retailer that's earned its place in Australian kitchens, laundries and living rooms one delivery at a time.
Our story
Back in 1991, we opened our first retail store in Fairfield, NSW as Fairfield Discount Appliances. Following the success of our 150sqm store, we relocated into an 880sqm shopfront on Ware St, Fairfield in 1996. In 2004, our leaders joined forces with a Narta partner as Bi-Rite Home Appliances.
In January 2010, we expanded into the commercial market, catering not only to residential customers but to builders, developers and the housing industry. In June 2016, we pushed into online retail under our new brand name Appliance Giant on eBay, and opened our first warehouse in Yennora, NSW — making appliance shopping easy, convenient and available 24/7.
With Amazon's arrival in Australia, we expanded onto Amazon in December 2017. By February 2019 we'd outgrown our facilities and moved into a larger distribution centre in Wetherill Park, NSW. In May 2019, we activated www.appliancegiant.com.au.
In 2023 we moved into a larger facility in Yennora, NSW to keep more stock closer to dispatch. Then in 2024, after 33 months of back-of-house IT development, we released a completely revamped Appliance Giant website — rebuilt from the ground up around our customers.
In 2025 we partnered with Woolworths and Big W, and in 2026 we partnered with Kmart — bringing Appliance Giant range and giant prices to even more Australian households.
We've moved locations 5 times over the last few years just to keep up. Our whole business model is built around the customer — explore our full range of kitchen appliances, laundry, and home appliances — all at giant prices.
